Help play a part in the arts! Pierre Players Community Theatre has two open seats on its Board of Governors. Pierre Players is looking for Board members who will be enthusiastic and active in the organization for a three-year term. Those wanting to serve do not need any theatrical experience. They must be able to help the organization set and achieve its growth and development goals, plus help in the Box Office. The deadline to apply is August 20, 2020. Pierre Players Community Theatre offers post secondary scholarships on a yearly basis. Funds to support the scholarships are provided by concession sales during Pierre Players productions. Awarded scholarships will be a minimum of $500, with the number of scholarships awarded each year dependent on funds available. The scholarship is based on participation in fine arts programs, activities and events. Pierre Players Community Theatre participation is given preference. Applicants must be currently enrolled in high school or higher education. Applicants may apply their senior year of high school and reapply each year as they complete their post-secondary education. Application must be completed in full and returned to Pierre Players by March 31, 2020. Winners will be announced at the end of April. More Info and the Application

- Fall: The Charitable Sisterhood of the Second Trinity Victory Church, a comedy by Bo Wilson
- Winter I: Whodunnit, Darling?, a mystery/comedy by Charles Edward Pogue & Larry Drake
- Winter II: Bill W. and Dr. Bob, a drama by Samuel Shem & Janet Surrey
- Spring: Born Yesterday, a dramatic comedy by Garson Kanin
- Summer: Peter and the Starcatcher, a musical by Rick Elice with music by Wayne Barker

Pierre Players Seeks Suggestions for 2016-2017 Season
Pierre Players’ Season Select Committee has begun meeting to discuss plays for the 2016-2017 season. Have you seen a great show that we should consider? Do you have a desire to direct again? If so, do you have a proposal that you would like to present to the committee? We are eager to receive suggestions and input so that we can select an exciting and successful 2016-2017 season for our patrons. Pierre Players Gives Away Season Memberships at Oahe Days Booth

Oral Interpretation Showcase: December 15
Pierre Players is hosting the T.F. Riggs Oral Interpretation Team on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. in the Grand Opera House. The event is open to the public with no admission. Presenters are Justin Oakland, Lydia Kanz, Sarah Kanz, Louis Mehlhaff, Grant Erwin, Joni Willoughby, Austin Lentsch, Tori Byer, Sami Paul, and Emily Nielson.
The team received four Superior awards for the following pieces: Newsies - Readers Theater compiled by Justin Oakland and Lydia Kanz, Beauty and the Beast - Duet by Justin Oakland and Lydia Kanz, To This Day - Poetry read by Sarah Kanz, Fat Kids on Fire - Humorous reading by Lydia Kanz. They also received a Team Excellence Award for getting four Superiors at State.
The showcase is dedicated to their coach Shane Cronin who has been fighting cancer. Audience is welcome to stay after the event to talk with the team and ask questions about Oral Interpretation.

Quilters Luncheon and Trunk Show on June 24
A special luncheon and quilters trunk show will be held at View 34 on Sunday, June 24, prior to the matinee production of "Quilters". The luncheon will begin at 11 a.m., followed by a trunk show featuring dozens of quilts made by Elizabeth Vogt and her friends. The trunk show will finish in time for the performance of "Quilters" at 2 p.m. at the Grand Opera House. The cost is $20 for members and $35 for non-members, which includes admission to the matinee performance. Reservations can be made by June 19 by calling the Box Office at 224-7826.
