Pierre Players Canceling "A Little Piece of Heaven," Instead Offering a Virtual Production

Thursday, January 21, 2021
Pierre Players Community Theatre regretfully announces that it is canceling its next production “A Little Piece of Heaven,” which was scheduled for Feb. 26-28 and March 4-6, 2021. Due to concerns with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there were not enough people at auditions to cast the production.

Many who did audition are now involved in a one-act play titled "The First Step,” which Pierre Players will offer virtually in late February/early March. Written by Kathleen Maule Holen, the play was inspired by a true story of New Year’s resolutions, friendship and purpose in Hot Springs, S.D. Be watching for more details about how you can view the virtual production.

Pierre Players is planning to offer “A Little Piece of Heaven” at a later date to be announced. Auditions for Pierre Players’ next production, “Radium Girls,” will be held on March 1, 2021, at 7 p.m. CST at the Grand Opera House.

Pierre Players Community Theatre remains dedicated to its mission of enriching, educating and entertaining central South Dakota by engaging volunteers and audience members in the process and product of quality theater. You can support Pierre Players in this mission through making a donation, which we will use to help cover the monthly costs to keep our organization strong during this pandemic. Pierre Players to Host Blood Drive

Tuesday, September 1, 2020

Donating blood is one of the easiest ways to give back to your community. Pierre Players is hosting a blood drive on Thursday, Sept. 10, from 11:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. in the Encore Room of the Grand Opera House at 109 S. Pierre St.

What do we all have in common that instantly connects us and gives us the power to do more? It’s the blood pulsing within each of us. This amazing, ever-replenishing gift is truly a natural resource that, when shared, speeds healing and provides comfort. Lifesaving blood offers second chances and many tomorrows to those who depend on it.

Each year, nearly 5 million Americans need blood transfusions. Blood helps trauma and burn patients, premature infants, heart surgery patients, organ transplant recipients and those fighting cancer, among others. In emergencies, it’s the blood already on hospital shelves that saves lives.

Schedule your appointment for Pierre Players' blood drive.
