Quilters Special Event

Quilters Luncheon and Trunk Show on June 24
A special luncheon and quilters trunk show will be held at View 34 on Sunday, June 24, prior to the matinee production of "Quilters". The luncheon will begin at 11 a.m., followed by a trunk show featuring dozens of quilts made by Elizabeth Vogt and her friends. The trunk show will finish in time for the performance of "Quilters" at 2 p.m. at the Grand Opera House. The cost is $20 for members and $35 for non-members, which includes admission to the matinee performance. Reservations can be made by June 19 by calling the Box Office at 224-7826. "Quilters" Auditions Set
Auditions for "Quilters" are set for April 23 and 24, 7 p.m., at the Grand Opera House. "Quilters," a musical by Molly Newman and Barbara Damashek, reveals the story of a legacy quilt made by one woman for her six daughters. The characters, inspired by their exquisite handmade quilts, tell stories of love, joy and sorrow found in each pattern. There are parts for seven women of various ages. Pizza Ranch Fundraiser a Success
Thanks to everyone who helped bus tables at Pizza Ranch and who came and ate tonight to benefit Pierre Players. It was a huge success and we raised $550 to help fund Pierre Players and continue to make upgrades at the Grand Opera House. Thank you everyone who took part.

Pierre Players presents a View 34 Dinner Theater "Love Letters" on Feb. 10, 11 and 14 at View 34. Pulitzer Prize-nominated "Love Letters" by A. R. Gurney is a charming play detailing a 50-year relationship between two individuals. Each lady in attendance will receive a flower compliments of Pierre Flower Shop.  more info

On Jan. 31, 2012, from 5-8 p.m. at Pizza Ranch in Fort Pierre, please come out and enjoy a wonderful night to benefit Pierre Players. You can even help Pierre Players with an order for carry-out. Anyway you slice it (cheesy isn't it), Pizza Ranch will share the night's proceeds with Pierre Players, and gratuities will be accepted. Best part... we'll clear the dishes!  Please stop for some pizza, chicken and salad bar to benefit Pierre Players. And of course there will be ice cream!

"All My Sons" tells the story of Joe Keller, a captain of industry during World War II, whose business partner was imprisoned some years before the play starts for selling faulty parts to an airplane manufacturer, which led to the death of American soldiers. A love affair between Keller’s son Chris, and Ann Deever – the daughter of the business partner, the bitterness of Deever’s son, who returns from the war to find his father in prison and his father’s partner free, and the reaction of a son to his father’s guilt escalate towards a climax of electrifying intensity.

Grand Opera House will once again have a Grand Drape

Coming soon to the GOH... a stage curtain!  The curtain was generously donated to Pierre Players by T.F. Riggs High School's Theatre Dept. and Ms. Zakahi.  Thanks to Midwest Construction for donating the use of the their scaffolding and to Scott Hipple, Steve Parker and Greg Peters who have the hardware installed!. The drape is being altered to fit the stage and will be hung soon.  Thanks again to all who have helped to make this happen!
