"The Legend of Lightning Larry"

Grand Opera House

Performance:

In the Old West, bad guys could be found on every street. In every nook and cranny you could find a rotten, no good outlaw. They feared nothing at all. After all they were dirty and mean. As mean as mean can get. That is until Lightning Larry rode into the town of Brimstone. Lightning Larry is a cowboy with a huge smile, a gun that shoots bolts of light, and a hankering for lemonade who takes on Evil-Eye McNeevil’s outlaw gang. This hilarious play is a series of short vignettes in which our hero, teaches the community how a positive attitude can make the world a better place.  The outlaw gang doesn't stand a chance against Lightning Larry's enthusiastic disposition.

Pierre Players presents a theater workshop for students entering 3rd – 5th grades.  The workshop offers instruction in expression/movement, costume/set design, and makeup and will conclude with a full production at the Steamboat Park Amphitheater on June 22, 2013 (during Oahe Days).

The workshop will be Monday, June 17 thru Friday, June 21 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the Grand Opera House (109 S. Pierre Street) with a focus on developing acting skills, building a set, and rehearsing the play.  There will be one performance of The Legend of Lightning Larry (or Lucy) on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 10:30 am.

This workshop is made possible by Teens Getting Involved in the Community.
